Hanging your photographs on the wall can radically change the feeling of your home, so you should take a little time to make sure you get it just right. One of the key things is to make sure the picture is the right size for the space it is going to be in. The best way to do this is with a little easy preparation before you purchase your image.
Take some newspaper and blue tack it to the wall; experiment with different size pieces of newspaper and different positions in the room. This should give you a good indication of what “looks right” for your space. Then measure how big the newspaper ended up and when it comes to selecting your photos you’ll have a good idea of what size to go for!

Viewing Photographs ~ There are a number of ways of viewing photographs and you need to decide which way best suits you. The evolution of digital photography has also opened up even more ways to enjoy your images, so I thought I would take a moment to run through the possibilities.
On the Wall ~ Hanging on the wall is one of the most popular ways of viewing a photo. With it always on display it is a pleasant reminder of a person at that stage of their life and indicates the gentle passage of time. The picture will also enhance it’s location with a familiar atmosphere that can be enjoyed by you and your visitors.
In an Album ~ Nothing brings a group of people together like sharing a look through an old photo album. Either a fond look back in time or to introduce new members to the family’s history, albums become priceless treasures. Albums are also the most archival and safe way of keeping photos, protecting them from damaging light and atmospheric pollution.
Digital Frames ~ One of the newest methods of viewing photographs is the digital frame, enabling you to view an entire gallery of images. Prices are still quite high for these devices, making it quite expensive to have one large enough to sit on a wall; so they are best suited for desktops and sideboards, where the viewer is at a more intimate distance.
Printing ~ Technology has enabled a myriad of printing techniques, allowing digital images to be printed onto pretty much anything. Printing onto T-shirts, mugs, jigsaws, key-rings, bags and cushions may not be a long term means of keeping photographs, but it is great fun!
Computer ~ Most people now have a computer either at work or at home and family photos make great screen-savers! You can also share your images with the rest of the world, maybe on your own website or on popular community sites like facebook and flickr.
Electronic Media ~ MP3 players are now a commonplace way of storing and viewing photos. With devices like the iPhone and iPod you can carry around your own personal gallery, always ready to show off your latest pictures.

A quick note to Satellite Navigation users, for some reason our postcode, SG1 3QP, seems to lead people to a school just round the corner from us. So, if you find yourself outside Thomas Alleyne School in Olde Swan Court you need to come back out onto the one way system and drive straight ahead onto the High Street. After two dozen yards you will come to a mini round about, at which you need to turn left into Walkern Road. Then we are in Pond Close Estate, which is just 50 yards down Walkern Road on the left.
03/08/09
You may have noticed a change to our homepage. We have decided to no longer hire out the studio. That area of the website is being replaced with a whole new section. Keep your eyes peeled for lots of new photos...

We have given our new printer a jolly good workout today. We printed two canvas', with a combined surface area of over 2500 square inches. One of them is destined for the wall outside the studio as one of our primary signs. Pop by and have a look if you fancy.

Three quirky dance photos on the theme of "chair" (!)

24/07/09
Well, that's one more thing to add to the list of strange things I've done. I've just been into London on the train with a camera on one shoulder and a ladder on the other. I was doing a test shot of the Theatre Royal Drury Lane stage door, in preparation for a shoot I'm doing in a couple of weeks. The photo needs to be from a high angle, hence the ladder.
24/07/09
I've also just stumbled across a directory of photos categorised by ballerina. So if you're after a picture of a particular dancer this might be a good place to start. www.ballerinagallery.com

We attended the Springfield Community Playgroup summer fayre last Saturday and it was a big success. Loads of people came and everyone had a great time. We were there giving away "Funny Faces" keyrings of the kids. The face painting was particularly popular, so we got lots of great pictures of lions and butterflys! Best of all, the weather was very kind and none of us got wet!
